Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the final bridge of the World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project will open to traffic on October 30, 2026, marking the completion of all major works under the AED696 million-plus road infrastructure project.
The new 1,000-metre-long, two-lane bridge will connect Al Majlis Street towards 2nd December Street, with a planned capacity of approximately 3,000 vehicles per hour. According to RTA, the bridge is expected to reduce travel time between the two streets from six minutes to just one minute.
The wider project includes five bridges stretching a combined five kilometres, alongside the conversion of the former World Trade Centre Roundabout into a surface-level intersection. RTA expects these upgrades to reduce average delays at the intersection from 12 minutes to approximately 90 seconds.
The improvements are expected to benefit more than 500,000 residents and visitors, enhancing connectivity between Dubai World Trade Centre, DIFC, Za’abeel, Al Satwa, Al Karama, Al Jafiliya and surrounding districts.
RTA confirmed the opening schedule on October 25. However, the final bridge is not yet open as of October 26, and the stated travel-time savings remain projected benefits until the upgraded road network becomes fully operational.
