World Bank Approves $700 Million Loan for Pakistan’s Economic Reforms

The World Bank has approved $700 million in financial assistance for Pakistan under the PRIDE-MPA program, aimed at strengthening economic stability and improving public service delivery. The program will support federal and provincial reforms focused on increasing domestic revenues, enhancing expenditure efficiency, and leveraging digital and data-driven tools for governance.The initiative aligns with Pakistan’s ongoing fiscal reforms and complements the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the National Fiscal Pact. Overall financing under the program could reach $1.35 billion, including allocations for federal initiatives and a dedicated portion for Sindh. Funds will be released based on performance-linked results, ensuring transparency and accountability in implementation.
