The World Bank has approved $375.9 million in financing to strengthen and modernize Pakistan’s electricity transmission system. According to the World Bank, the project aims to improve the capacity of the national transmission network, enhance the reliability of electricity supply, and reduce frequent power outages. The initiative will support the installation of advanced equipment and the upgrading of key grid stations and substations to improve the efficiency and stability of the power system. Officials say the project will also enable better integration of renewable energy into the national grid, lower overall electricity costs, and ensure a more reliable supply of electricity for households, businesses, and industries. The investment is expected to play a significant role in improving Pakistan’s long-term energy infrastructure and supporting sustainable economic growth.
