WASA Sewerage Project on Khayaban-e-Firdousi Nears Completion in Phases

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) is close to completing its major sewerage project on Khayaban-e-Firdousi, which was planned in two to three phases. Despite multiple hurdles and technical challenges, significant progress has been achieved. The section from Shaukat Khanum Flyover to Shadiwal has been backfilled, handed over to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and traffic flow has been restored. Work is actively underway on Phase Two, stretching from the LDA U-Turn to Shauq Chowk, where stone filling has started following sewerage installation.The stretch up to Mian Plaza has been cleared and prepared for road construction, after which asphalt surfacing will be completed. Phase Three, from Shauq Chowk to Allah Hoo Gol Chakkar, is in preparation. WASA aims to complete the project by June, ahead of the monsoon season, to improve drainage capacity.
