Lahore: The Punjab government has approved the Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop-4 project, which is planned to extend the ring road beyond Maraka on Multan Road towards the Sharaqpur corridor. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the project in April 2026 and directed officials to provide regular progress reports, according to Dawn. Earlier planning documents described SL-4 as a route crossing the Ravi and connecting Multan Road with the motorway and Sharaqpur side of Lahore. The supplied update estimates that the new link could reduce travel time from around one hour to 30 minutes, although this estimate has not been confirmed in the latest official approval report. Better road access may support movement around nearby communities, but claims about future property growth remain projections. The project has been approved; it has not yet been completed or opened to traffic.
