Lahore: Pakistan Railways has decided to suspend Shalimar Express, operating between Lahore and Karachi via Faisalabad, for one month after the Lahore-Faisalabad rail track was affected by floodwater near the Sheikhupura railway bridge area. According to sources, the disruption in rail operations on the Lahore-Faisalabad route led to the decision, while passengers are being informed about refunds for their bookings. The train was reportedly being operated under the private sector, and instead of changing its route, a request was made to suspend the service for one month. Other trains are expected to operate through alternative routes via Sahiwal and Multan toward Karachi. Can timely track restoration reduce passenger inconvenience?
