RUDA seals illegal housing schemes and factories in major enforcement operation

Lahore: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) carried out a major enforcement operation against illegal constructions, housing schemes and tax defaulters in areas falling under the Ravi City project. During the operations conducted in February, the authority sealed 11 illegal housing schemes including Mohlanwal New Abadi Scheme, Mateen Garden, Real Estate Kot Mol Chand, Bismillah Housing Society, Tariq Colony, Al-Shams Block Bhalla Diswal, Abdullah Park Rangiyan Jhangiyan and Lahore Motorway City. RUDA teams also sealed several factories, warehouses, industrial units and real estate offices for non-payment of commercial taxes. In addition, strict action was taken against environmental violations and illegal sand extraction from the Ravi River, where excavators and vehicles were confiscated and fines were imposed. Authorities stated that enforcement actions will continue to stop illegal constructions and protect the planned development of the Ravi City area.
