Rawalpindi signal-free corridor project inaugurated

Rawalpindi: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Rawalpindi Marka-e-Haq Square and reviewed the signal-free corridor project completed in a record 179 days instead of 190 days. The project includes five underpasses, two overhead bridges, and a state-of-the-art pedestrian bridge. The historic Kachehri Chowk has also been named Marka-e-Haq Square. The chief minister inspected the corridor, overhead bridge, and route from Annexy Chowk to GPO Chowk, while Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth gave a detailed briefing. More than 200,000 vehicles are expected to use this corridor daily. The 25-kilometer signal-free corridor from Rawat to Motorway can improve mobility, commercial access, property value, and urban investment. Can this corridor reshape Rawalpindi’s urban transport culture?
