Punjab reviews Rs75 billion Nawaz Sharif Cancer Institute project in Lahore

Lahore: Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique reviewed the progress of the under-construction Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research during a high-level visit. Officials said the state-of-the-art facility is being developed at a cost of approximately Rs75 billion with a capacity of 915 beds. The institute will provide advanced cancer care including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, ICU services and specialized treatment for complex cases, with free treatment promised for patients. The project also includes a bone marrow centre, emergency ward, accommodation facilities and additional expansion in later phases. Authorities emphasized that work is progressing continuously, with the aim to complete the first phase on time and provide modern healthcare facilities across Pakistan.
