Punjab Revenue Authority collects over Rs 250 billion in record tax recovery

Lahore: The Punjab Revenue Authority has achieved a major milestone by collecting over Rs 250 billion in tax revenue during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2025-26. Officials stated that this marks a significant increase compared to Rs 181 billion collected during the same period last year, reflecting a growth of around 70 billion rupees. Chairman PRA Mumtaz Iqbal Sapra highlighted that activation of the Large Taxpayer Unit has contributed to improved collection efficiency. Authorities also reported a 33 percent growth rate in March alone, with more than Rs 30 billion collected. The government has directed enforcement teams to further strengthen efforts to meet annual revenue targets.
