Lahore: Punjab’s government is scaling up the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” affordable housing program, with participation from the World Bank and a fund allocation of $100 million. Housing and Urban Development Minister Bilal Yasin approved the program’s restructuring in a recent meeting, following briefings from the DG PHATA and project director. The initiative provides interest-free loans to low-income families across various districts, with Rs1.5 million allocated per household. The program aims to construct up to 100,000 homes annually, improving living standards for millions of residents. Officials emphasize that this model aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision to provide sustainable housing solutions and promote socioeconomic development in Punjab.
