Punjab establishes WASA Resource Directorate to improve revenue and assets management

Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to establish a dedicated Resource Directorate within WASA to strengthen management of assets and revenue streams across the province. Under directives of the Chief Minister, Secretary Housing Noorul Amin Mengal issued orders for the appointment of an Additional Director General Resource along with supporting staff including directors, deputy directors, and inspectors. The new directorate will oversee financial performance, operational efficiency, and effective utilization of WASA resources. Authorities have also instructed strict monitoring of all WASA agencies and immediate resolution of public complaints. Officials stated that enhanced field operations and availability of machinery in districts will further improve service delivery and ensure better municipal management.
