Punjab accelerates WASA projects, orders expansion of workforce

Lahore: Provincial Housing Minister Bilal Yasin chaired a meeting to review the progress of WASA development projects and directed authorities to accelerate work under the Punjab Development Plan. Officials decided to increase workforce and machinery to ensure timely completion of projects. During the briefing, it was revealed that WASA complexes will be constructed in 15 cities in the initial phase to strengthen water and sanitation infrastructure. The minister also instructed WASA managing directors across districts to immediately start desilting campaigns to prepare for emergency situations. Authorities emphasized strict timelines and improved coordination, stating that enhanced operational capacity will help deliver better municipal services and reduce urban flooding risks across Punjab.
