Punjab Approves Rs70bn Development Projects

Lahore: The Punjab Planning and Development Board has approved development projects worth Rs70 billion in the 64th Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) meeting for FY2025-26. Key approvals include Rs11 billion for Jaranwala–Nankana Road rehabilitation, Rs34 billion for dualization of the Muzaffargarh–Alipur–Head Panjnad–Tranda Muhammad Panah Road, and Rs27 billion for land acquisition of the same corridor. Additional allocations cover Narowal Ring Road (PC-II), Sarai Chowk–Adda Rawal Road rehabilitation, and model village initiatives across major cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Multan. Funds were also approved for mango productivity enhancement, a horticulture research center in Pattoki, and improved district-level animal health facilities. Officials say the package aims to boost infrastructure, connectivity, and municipal services province-wide.
