Lahore: The Punjab government has approved major reforms aimed at making the regulatory system for private housing schemes more effective, transparent and public-friendly. As part of the changes, amendments have been approved to the Punjab Development Authority Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021, along with revisions to the PHATA Affordable Private Housing Schemes Rules 2020. The reforms are intended to improve approval procedures, reduce administrative bottlenecks and create a clearer framework for development and compliance. If implemented effectively, the changes could help legitimate developers move projects through the approval process more efficiently while also improving oversight and protection for buyers and investors.
