Pakistan Seeks New Oil, LNG Sources Amid Supply Crisis

Islamabad: Pakistan is actively exploring alternative sources of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) as disruptions in global supply routes impact fuel imports. The move follows tensions in the Middle East that have affected shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy corridor. Officials confirmed that the government is considering deals with countries including Russia and Venezuela to secure affordable fuel and avoid shortages. Tenders for LNG imports have already been issued, while authorities are reviewing the overall energy supply chain. The initiative reflects Pakistan’s strategy to diversify energy partners and ensure stable fuel availability during peak demand periods.
