Pakistan needs 22000MW nuclear power to replace fossil fuels

Islamabad: Pakistan may require over 22,000MW of additional nuclear power capacity to gradually replace fossil fuel-based energy and strengthen long-term energy security. Experts highlight that nuclear energy offers stable, low-carbon electricity to meet growing demand while reducing reliance on imported fuels. This development under the Strategic Innovations & Future Real Estate Cluster reflects a National-level shift toward sustainable and future-ready energy planning. For Lahore and Punjab, such a transition could stabilize electricity supply and support industrial and urban growth.
