Islamabad: Pakistan and Canada have agreed to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, security, and development during the official visit of Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand to Islamabad. Canada announced a CAD 47.2 million support package, marking an important step in renewed bilateral engagement and the first visit by a Canadian foreign minister to Pakistan in nearly two decades. The package includes CAD 45 million for climate resilience, flood recovery, girls’ education, reproductive health, and family planning, while CAD 2.2 million has been allocated for security cooperation, including counter-terrorism, border management, financial crime investigations, and law enforcement training.
