New Rule Announced for All Vehicles on Motorways

Islamabad: The federal government has announced strict new vehicle fitness regulations for all vehicles entering Pakistan’s motorway network following a tragic accident on the M-9 Motorway. Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan ordered a full inquiry and directed authorities to enforce rigorous inspections. Under the new rule, vehicles with worn-out tyres, faulty brakes, defective lights, or poor mechanical condition will not be allowed to enter motorways. The regulation applies to private cars, buses, vans, and heavy trucks without exception. Authorities aim to ensure uniform enforcement nationwide to enhance road safety, reduce high-speed accidents, and improve compliance with vehicle fitness standards.
