Mughalpura’s Gulistan Bagh Park turns into stagnant water and mosquito hotspot

Lahore: Residents near Gulistan Bagh Park on Mughalpura Road have complained about the worst condition of the public park, where stagnant water, foul smell, broken fencing, and poor maintenance have made the space unsafe for families and children. Locals say the park was meant for children’s recreation, but most facilities are missing or damaged, while standing dirty water is increasing mosquito breeding and creating health risks for the neighborhood. Residents claim repeated complaints have been made, but no effective action has been taken so far. Poor park maintenance affects public health, neighborhood livability, property surroundings, and civic confidence. Will authorities restore the park before the situation worsens further?
