Microsoft will raise its total investment in the United Arab Emirates to $15 billion by 2029, according to Vice Chair and President Brad Smith. The new funding will primarily expand Microsoft’s AI and cloud data centers across the UAE to meet growing regional demand for artificial intelligence services. Speaking at the ADIPEC energy conference in Abu Dhabi, Smith said the company had secured U.S. government approval to export Nvidia’s advanced A100, H100, and GB300 GPUs for these facilities. The move follows Microsoft’s earlier $1.5 billion investment in Abu Dhabi-based AI firm G42, signaling deepening tech cooperation between the U.S. and UAE. Despite political scrutiny over G42’s China ties, Microsoft maintains that the partnership meets U.S. compliance standards and promotes secure AI development.
