Major Road Closed Due to Neela Gumbad Restoration Work

A major road near Lahore’s Neela Gumbad has been closed due to ongoing restoration work, causing serious concern among residents and shopkeepers. The closure has cut off access to the famous cycle market and reduced customer flow into Anarkali Bazaar, leaving traders worried about steep drops in daily sales. Many shopkeepers report significant financial losses and have formally notified the Lahore Deputy Commissioner about the hardships created by the shutdown. Traders have also appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister for compensation, warning that the restoration project may take up to 15 months to complete. They urged the government to reopen access routes as soon as possible to protect businesses in one of Lahore’s oldest and busiest commercial areas.
