Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority has introduced a modern digital check-and-balance system to curb fake notices and people impersonating LDA officials. DG LDA Tahir Farooq has advised citizens to verify the identification of LDA personnel before responding to any field action or notice. A special cell comprising LDA officers has also been established under the new mechanism.
Under the system, LDA notices will carry verifiable QR codes, while field staff issuing notices will be required to display identification cards. LDA has already banned manual notices as part of its wider digitisation drive, while recent enforcement SOPs also provide for digital monitoring of notices, sealing and demolition actions.
DG LDA said the authority is also procuring body-worn cameras for future field operations. Officials are expected to record enforcement activities, allowing footage to be reviewed where citizen complaints require further investigation. The cameras are therefore a planned next step, not yet a fully operational system.
