Landslide Blocks Skardu Highway at Haramosh, Restoration Work Underway

Gilgit-Baltistan: The Juglot–Skardu Highway (S-1) has been blocked at Haramosh after landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains disrupted traffic on the strategic route. Road maintenance teams and the relevant authorities have launched restoration work to remove debris and reopen the highway as quickly as possible. The closure has temporarily affected travel between Gilgit and Skardu, while motorists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel until the route is declared safe. Recent heavy rainfall has caused road damage and landslides at several locations across Gilgit-Baltistan, prompting emergency response and rehabilitation efforts.
