Major Road Collapse Near Moon Market Disrupts Traffic in Iqbal Town

Lahore: A large section of a newly constructed road collapsed after heavy rainfall near Moon Market in Allama Iqbal Town, severely disrupting traffic movement. The several-feet-wide and reportedly several-metres-deep cavity appeared between the main road and service lane on the route leading towards Moon Market. Residents and commuters faced significant difficulties as the affected section remained unsafe for vehicles. A WASA tanker was deployed to remove accumulated rainwater, after which repair and backfilling work began. Safety barriers have been installed around the damaged portion to prevent accidents. Officials expect the road to be repaired and fully reopened to traffic within the next 24 hours, although the work may take several hours to complete.
