Lahore Township Water Filtration Plant Shut for Four Years

Residents of Lahore’s Township Block B-2 have been deprived of clean drinking water as a local water filtration plant has remained non-functional for the past four years. Due to prolonged neglect, key machinery at the plant has reportedly been stolen, while taps and fittings are also missing, highlighting a lack of maintenance by the concerned authorities. Locals say the water supplied to homes is unsafe, leading to stomach and gastrointestinal illnesses, forcing families to purchase expensive drinking water to meet daily needs. Residents have urged higher authorities to take immediate notice and restore the filtration plant so that clean and safe drinking water can be provided to the community, easing both health risks and financial burden.
