Lahore Town Hall to get Rs20.8 million public café by December

Lahore: A new café and canteen facility is being built inside Town Hall Lahore for Municipal Corporation Lahore employees and visiting citizens. Construction work has started, with foundation work currently underway near the Town Hall mosque. The facility will provide a dedicated place for staff and the public to sit, eat, and access basic refreshments within the civic complex. Officials say the project will cost more than Rs. 20.8 million and is expected to be completed within six months, with work starting in June and completion targeted by December. The café can improve public convenience, staff welfare, visitor experience, and overall civic service environment. Can better public facilities make government spaces more citizen-friendly?
