Lahore rain brings relief after intense humidity, but waterlogging slows traffic

Lahore: Citizens in Lahore experienced intense humidity and uncomfortable heat from the morning, as rising temperatures and high moisture levels made weather conditions difficult soon after sunrise. However, heavy rainfall later changed the situation and brought noticeable relief from the heat across different parts of the city. Intermittent rain continued in several areas, making the weather pleasant and reducing the overall intensity of the heat. Despite the relief, water accumulated in low-lying locations and disrupted traffic flow on multiple roads. According to the Meteorological Department, more rain is expected in the coming hours, and citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and follow precautionary measures. Will Lahore’s drainage system cope if the rain spell continues?
