Police in Lahore’s Township area reportedly raided and sealed a facility accused of repackaging counterfeit imported food products, including chips, chocolate spread, and biscuits, after allegedly altering their expiry dates. Authorities said a large quantity of suspected products, packaging material, and manufacturing equipment was recovered during the operation. The seized items were destroyed, while the factory owner was taken into custody and an FIR was registered. Officials stated that the operation forms part of wider efforts to protect consumers, prevent the sale of unsafe food, and strengthen food safety enforcement across Punjab. The allegations remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
