Johar Town residents demand repair of long-broken water filtration plant

Lahore: Residents of Johar Town Block 2 have complained that the local water filtration plant has remained non-functional for a long time, creating serious problems for families in the area. Locals say the taps are broken, machinery is missing, and the facility is no longer providing clean drinking water. They added that household water supply is often dirty, forcing residents to either buy drinking water or bring it from distant areas, which becomes even more difficult during intense summer heat. The issue directly affects public health, daily living standards, property appeal, and confidence in civic services. Residents have demanded urgent restoration of the plant. Will authorities act before the clean water crisis worsens?
