KP announces 16 agriculture projects for merged districts

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced 16 new agricultural development projects for the merged districts to improve farm productivity, strengthen rural livelihoods, and modernize the local agriculture sector. According to officials, the approved initiatives include solar-powered tube wells, expansion of olive cultivation, and the establishment of modern tissue culture laboratories. These projects are aimed at lowering energy costs, improving water use efficiency, and providing better quality planting material to farmers. The move is also expected to create employment opportunities and support value-added agriculture in areas where farming remains a key economic activity. If implemented effectively, the package could strengthen food production, boost regional incomes, and encourage long-term rural development. Can these projects transform the agricultural economy of the merged districts?
