Karachi: Karachi Development Authority is moving to digitise land records and introduce a barcode-based file tracking system to make property information more transparent, easier to access and simpler to monitor. Under the proposed setup, file movement would be tracked more efficiently, delays could be identified faster and record handling could become more organised for both officials and citizens. The reported plan also aims to build secure digital archives so citizens can remotely access relevant land information while reducing irregularities in record management. If implemented effectively, the move could improve processing speed in land-related matters and strengthen confidence in public record handling.
