Heatwave alert issued across Punjab from June 8 to 11

Lahore: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for Punjab from June 8 to 11, warning of extremely high temperatures across multiple cities. Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Gujrat may experience temperatures between 41°C and 44°C from June 8 to 10. From June 8 to 11, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Jhang may reach 44°C to 48°C. Similarly, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Pakpattan, and Rahim Yar Khan, as well as Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Layyah, Bhakkar, and Kot Addu, are expected to face temperatures between 44°C and 48°C. Authorities urge citizens to take precautions, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and stay hydrated to prevent heat-related health risks.
