Hazardous High Voltage Electric Wires Threaten Residents at Mochi Gate, Lahore

Residents and shopkeepers in Lahore’s Mochi Gate area are facing severe risks due to dangerously tangled and broken high-voltage electric wires. Many of these wires, some decades old, are hanging across streets and marketplaces, posing a threat to pedestrians, businesses, and daily activities. Despite repeated complaints to local authorities, no effective remedial action has been taken. Temporary fixes, such as taping and tying wires with ropes, have been applied, but these do not address the underlying safety hazards. Locals warn that the persistent negligence could lead to serious accidents, urging the government and electricity authorities to act immediately to ensure public safety.
