Gujranwala Mass Transit System Officially Breaks Ground Under Transport 2030 Vision

Gujranwala has entered a new era of modern and eco-friendly transport with the groundbreaking of the Gujranwala Mass Transit System, launched under CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Transport Vision 2030.The project includes a 31 km SRT corridor, 4 modern trams, 36 electric buses, and 25 world-class stations, designed to serve more than 51,000 passengers daily.Officials said the initiative aims to reduce congestion, cut carbon emissions, and provide safe, affordable, and efficient mobility for residents.The system is expected to significantly improve urban connectivity, stimulate commercial activity along the corridor, and raise the overall quality of life in Gujranwala.This marks one of Punjab’s largest and most transformative urban transport projects to date.
