Govt Plans University Town in Islamabad Under Vision 2027

ISLAMABAD: The federal government is planning to establish a dedicated University Town in Islamabad under the upcoming Vision 2027, aimed at providing international-standard education facilities to students from across the country. Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi announced the initiative while addressing a ceremony at Quaid-i-Azam University, saying the project will include modern academic, research, and residential infrastructure. He emphasized the central role of higher education in Islamabad’s future development and described Quaid-i-Azam University as integral to the capital’s academic identity. The minister also directed the Capital Development Authority to redesign and beautify the university’s main entrance and upgrade its auditorium to modern standards, while reiterating firm action against illegal encroachments on public land.
