IsDB Approves $475 Million Funding for Sukkur–Hyderabad Motorway M-6

ISLAMABAD: The long-delayed Sukkur–Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) project has received a major boost after the Islamic Development Bank approved $475 million in financing as part of a broader $603 million development package. The six-lane, 306-kilometre motorway is the only missing link in Pakistan’s north–south motorway network and is designed to improve connectivity between Sukkur and Hyderabad. Officials said the project, with a total cost of $1.7 billion, will include multiple interchanges, bridges, and underpasses to facilitate smoother passenger and freight movement across Sindh. With international funding secured, construction activities are expected to accelerate, supporting regional trade, reducing travel time, and strengthening connectivity from Karachi to Peshawar.
