Government Acquires 62,000 Kanals of Land Around Islamabad Airport for Expansion and Defense

Islamabad: The government has approved the acquisition of 62,000 kanals of land around Islamabad International Airport for future expansion and defense purposes. The notification has been issued, covering 12 specific villages. The land will be used to strengthen the airport’s operational capacity and enhance national defense infrastructure. Compensation will be provided to landowners under the Land Acquisition Act. This decision comes in view of increasing air traffic and strategic requirements.
