Faisalabad and Rawalpindi Railway Stations Get Modern Makeover

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi inaugurated the newly upgraded Faisalabad Railway Station, announcing enhanced passenger facilities, including a waiting lounge with over 500 seats. He credited local industrialists and the business community for supporting the renovation. Abbasi also confirmed that the Rawalpindi Railway Station’s upgraded facilities will be inaugurated soon. Free Wi-Fi has been activated at five major stations — Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi — while a 500 km stretch of the Karachi–Rohri track is being modernized. The minister highlighted new initiatives like public-private passenger centers and improved security systems. Separately, CM Maryam Nawaz announced the restoration of Gujranwala’s 144-year-old railway station building, now transformed into “Adabi Bethak” — a cultural hub with a reading corner and café.
