Delayed road rehabilitation in Lahore leaves residents facing severe hardships

Lahore: Residents of NA-129 are facing serious difficulties due to prolonged delays in development work on Kalyar Road and Khuda Bakhsh Road. The road, once properly carpeted, was dug up for sewerage installation nearly two years ago, but rehabilitation work remains incomplete. As a result, the road has deteriorated, causing severe traffic congestion, daily accidents and inconvenience for commuters. Officials have also been criticised for slow progress, with construction materials lying unattended on-site. Locals reported additional issues including disruption of gas lines and water accumulation during rainfall, making conditions worse. Citizens have urged authorities to immediately complete the pending work to restore safe travel and improve living conditions.
