Peshawar: Construction is continuing on the PDA Toll Plaza Underpass at Hayatabad Ring Road, a two-lane project being built at an estimated cost of Rs1.6 billion. The project is part of the broader Peshawar Revitalisation Plan and is intended to improve access toward Bara Road, reduce congestion and make movement through the busy corridor easier and safer.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi laid the foundation stone on June 14, 2026. The Peshawar Development Authority’s latest project updates continue to list the underpass as in progress, while an August 28 inspection by the Chief Secretary, PDA Director General, Chief Engineer and other officials reviewed ongoing development work at the site.
The underpass is one of several transport projects being implemented under Peshawar’s urban renewal programme. Dawn reported that the wider plan also includes road rehabilitation and additional underpasses intended to improve traffic movement across the provincial capital.
