Climate concerns rise in Galiyat, call for tourism protection strategy

Abbottabad: Stakeholders in the Galiyat region have raised serious concerns over environmental risks and climate change impacts, urging immediate action to protect tourism. Officials stated that rising temperatures, irregular rainfall, landslides and deforestation are directly affecting tourist activities in the area.

Authorities and local stakeholders emphasized the need for a climate-resilient strategy, including forest conservation, control of illegal construction and sustainable use of natural resources. The aim is to preserve the region’s ecological balance while maintaining its tourism appeal.

Experts believe that without timely intervention, both tourism and the local economy could face significant challenges in the future.
