CDA Issues Tender for 2.7km Margalla Avenue Road Link

The Capital Development Authority has issued a tender to construct the final 2.7-kilometre stretch of Margalla Avenue, linking it directly to the Peshawar Motorway M-1. The project includes a GT Road interchange and will feature a three-lane dual carriageway with two-lane service roads and a cloverleaf interchange. Technical bids are scheduled to open on January 23, with an expected completion time of eight months after construction begins. At the Sangjani Grid Station end, the National Highway Authority is building a separate 2.5-kilometre section within Rawalpindi, awarded to the National Logistics Cell at a cost of Rs4.1 billion. Once completed, the corridor will provide an alternative route between Islamabad and GT Road (N-5), easing traffic and improving connectivity.
