Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, chairing the 30th provincial cabinet meeting, rejected a proposal to raise ticket prices for electric buses operating in Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. The decision ensures continued affordability for commuters using Punjab’s expanding eco-friendly public transport network. The cabinet also approved hiring School Teacher Interns and endorsed the Punjab Protection of Ownership of Immovable Property Ordinance 2025 under the “One who possesses it owns it” initiative. Additionally, a new subsidy scheme was approved under the High-Tech Farm Mechanisation Finance Programme, offering 60% subsidies on modern agricultural machinery. Over 10,000 farmers have already applied, including 1,500 via the Bank of Punjab. The cabinet further announced that the sugarcane crushing season will begin on November 15.
