Rs70 Toll Fee Raised to Rs100 Just to Avoid Rs30 Change?

A viral social media claim suggesting that toll fees have been increased from Rs70 to Rs100 simply to eliminate the hassle of returning Rs30 in change is being circulated as satire rather than an official government announcement. The humorous post has attracted attention by mocking everyday complaints about toll plaza queues, cash payments, and delays in receiving change. No official notification confirming this specific Rs70-to-Rs100 increase for the satirical reason described in the viral post was identified in the sources reviewed. Recent toll changes, however, are a real and separate matter. The National Highway Authority recently notified a 7% increase in toll rates on the Islamabad-Lahore M-2 Motorway, effective July 5, 2026. Earlier in April, the government also withdrew a proposed increase in toll taxes on national highways. The viral “Rs100 for easy change” claim should therefore not be presented as genuine government policy without an official notification.
