WASA directs emergency readiness ahead of monsoon, orders sewer cleaning and staff deployment

Faisalabad: Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza chaired a high-level meeting to review monsoon preparedness, directing officials to ensure full staff availability and operational machinery at all emergency camps. Authorities have been instructed to complete desilting of sewer lines and main drainage channels before the rainy season to prevent urban flooding. Emergency camps have been established across the city with round-the-clock staff presence and necessary equipment, including dewatering sets and suction machines. Officials also emphasized maintaining high-quality water supply, directing immediate response and testing in case of contamination complaints. The initiative aims to improve drainage efficiency and minimize disruptions during heavy rains.
