Sui Wala Road water filtration plant inoperable, residents struggle

Lahore: Residents of Daroghawala on Sui Wala Road are facing difficulties due to a water filtration plant that has been non-operational for several months. Many taps are missing, while others do not supply water, forcing locals to fetch water from distant filtration plants or rely on costly private filters. Illegal encroachments around the plant, including shops and stalls, further restrict access to available water points. Despite repeated complaints to the authorities, no action has been taken to restore the facility or remove illegal structures. The malfunctioning plant and blocked access are causing severe inconvenience to residents, local shopkeepers, and business owners, impacting daily life and public health.
