Sindh Approves Historic PKR 1.018 Trillion Development Budget for 2025–26

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has approved a record PKR 1.018 trillion development budget for 2025–26, with a major focus on Karachi’s water, transport, and infrastructure needs. At a high-level review meeting, PKR 85.5 billion was allocated specifically for Karachi to support key projects such as the K-IV water supply scheme, KWSSIP-II, Hub Canal rehabilitation, new stormwater drains, and 228 WASH and municipal service schemes. Province-wide allocations include 293 WASH schemes, 620 ongoing road projects, the Korangi Causeway Bridge, new underpasses, flood-damaged road rehabilitation, and major mass-transit upgrades including BRT Red and Yellow Lines. The plan also covers renewable energy projects, school rehabilitation, health facility upgrades, new universities, and climate-resilient infrastructure. CM Shah emphasized timely fund releases and personally monitoring project progress.
