Rawalpindi to expand signal-free road network

Rawalpindi: Authorities are moving ahead with plans to launch several new road infrastructure projects aimed at expanding Rawalpindi’s signal-free corridor network and easing traffic congestion across key urban routes. The proposed projects are expected to improve road capacity, reduce travel delays, and provide smoother movement for daily commuters, public transport, and commercial traffic. Such infrastructure upgrades matter because Rawalpindi’s growing population and rising vehicle pressure require long-term mobility solutions. Better road connectivity can also improve access to markets, hospitals, schools, residential areas, and business districts. For real estate, signal-free corridors often increase property demand, commercial visibility, and investment interest along connected routes. Can these projects reshape Rawalpindi’s urban mobility and development pattern?
