Rawalpindi-Peshawar GT Road underpass construction begins soon

Rawalpindi: Heavy machinery has started arriving at key locations along Rawalpindi-Peshawar GT Road, including Qasim Market and Charing Cross, ahead of the upcoming underpass construction. Preparatory work including tree relocation, electricity lines, drainage, underground cables, and service roads has largely been completed. Large construction plants, sand and gravel piles, and steel reinforcements for the underpass pillars are now in place. Authorities confirm that site machinery is sufficient and construction will commence officially soon. So far, both sides of the GT Road remain fully open for normal traffic, ensuring minimal disruption. Will this underpass improve traffic flow and urban mobility in Rawalpindi?
